In September 2004 Switch on Shropshire engaged Redbrick Enterprises Ltd to undertake a research project that would identify and define the Barriers to Learning in Craven Arms and its neighbouring rural communities.

This research would then inform the development of a Testbed Learning Community (TLC) that would offer skills training to local residents and businesses.

Redbrick undertook a major consultation exercise; attending business IT training events, meeting with key individuals from the town, holding discussions with training providers and interviewing local residents from Craven Arms and the surrounding area. Well in excess of 100 people have been consulted during the course of the past two months. The findings contained in this document are based on this wide-ranging consultation and the recommendations reflect the clear views of the people.
