Case Study: Full of Beans

Full of Beans (UK) Ltd designs and manufactures bean bags, floor cushions and unique soft play for children. They supply to nurseries, schools, parents, catalogues, hospitals, libraries and holiday companies. Manufacturing all their goods on-site they aim to make the best quality products which are attractive, practical and safe to use.

Full of Beans also make bean bags for adults which will be promoted separately from the children's products on their new e-business website. This is currently being developed with the aid of an assisted grant from Switch on Shropshire.

Sue Mabbutt, Director said

"Switch on Shropshire facilitated the installation of satellite broadband at our place of work. This was critical for us to develop our new website for on-line purchase of the adult bean bags.

We can send and receive large image files, important for creating the new website and for the production of new brochures."

Before the installation of satellite broadband the company found tasks such as internet banking very frustrating and time consuming. Now that they are constantly online email orders are received instantly and despatched the same day.

Switch on Shropshire also provided a grant to upgrade their computer hardware.

"Without Switch on Shropshire we would still be stuck in the dark ages of dial-up! The new PC's and software were a bonus but the broadband has made the most significant difference. We simply would not have been able to afford it without Switch on Shropshire."
